The avant-way-off-guarde comedy stylings of Maureen Cummings and Beth Heinly, collectively known as 3:00 Book, will be on full-frontal display during the 2008 Puppet Karaoke Carnival Of Madness event, held with great aplomb at Fishtown's own M-Room on Thursday, March 20th and featuring a gaggle of crooning hand puppets who sing karaoke hits, ribald improv comedy, and the debut of all-new skits by the to-die-for decadent duo that is 3:00 Book.
Maureen, who counts her research into female-on-female dolphin sex play as part of her expertise, combines her talents with Beth, the heavily indexed artist and lover of all colors (currently red black and yellow among her faves) to create the entity known as 3:00 Book, publishers of alluring online webcomics and real physical comics you can actually hold in your hands. In addition, the perky pair produces short films of disturbing merit and partakes in the genesis of outlandish characters, such as the vile yet lovable Pumpinkhead, a doll-like being with bladder-control issues and a penchant for gasoline. The Puppet Karaoke Carnival Of Madness Show will be a chaotic blend of two girls' rapier wit with a cast of puppets' smart-alecky style. Bar karaoke meets adults-only puppet theater meets experimental, which an emphasis on mental. Free flip-books will be given at the door to all entrants. Audience members may also participate in the show by bringing a hand puppet or building one onsite to battle for karaoke dominance on a puppetstage in front of video cameras destined to make podcast history. The ongoing Puppet Karaoke Universe Show tours Philadelphia and New York venues with a new celebrity host in each program. Past hosts have included Dirty Diamond, Elisabeth Fiend and DJ Robert Drake.
