Philadelphia's long-running laughathon continues as the Puppet Karaoke live comedy show brings its brand of whacky interactive fun to city center on Saturday nights this fall with a foam-rubber singing hand puppet cast led by infamous DJ and radio personality Robert Drake, The Puppet Karaoke Big Chinatown BBQ Show features improv insanity, free-wheeling karaoke magic and star-studded surprises, amid the delectable environs of Ly Michaels, the popular asian-fusion dining and latenight hotspot adjacent to Philadelphia's bustling Convention Center.
Robert Drake is a radio talkshow host and producer (WXPN's Kids Corner, Q'Zine) and brains behind some rather heavy-hitting regular party events in the region (Land of The Lost, Sex Dwarf). This, his second outing with the Puppet Karaoke Universe, will usher in a new era for the live show, as creators Alex Strang and R.S. Purcell are relocating the monthly singing spectacle from its prior Fishtown home to the international excitement of Chinatown. Ly Michaels is an ideal venue in the city's cultural and business epicenter, and boasts intelligent, creative asian cuisine and a lush, inviting atmosphere, perfect for the new dinner-theatre approach of the evolving Puppet Karaoke Show. The Puppet Karaoke Universe Show is now in its fourth year, and blends real audience-driven karaoke entertainment with wild and crazy puppet theatre, celebrity human 'hosts' and truly unpredictable skits and improv comedy. To celebrate its new home, this September 27th event will feature a unique all-you-can-eat buffet and complete live show, for an entirely immersive Puppet Karaoke experience.
