Famed circus artist and area comic personality Paul Palcko is scheduled to host the death-defying October 25th Puppet Karaoke Cirque De Stupid event at the M-Room in Fishtown, a live show that will combine the best of a bizarre big top freakshow with the intense karaoke competition of high-attitude hand puppets..
Palcko's lovingly lurid paintings and illustration work evoke a strong, often decadent carnival motif and his guitar-playing clown alter-ego carries this absorbing aesthetic into the live world with disturbing aplomb. This edition of the Puppet Karaoke Universe Show is a direct continuation ofPalcko's notorious Clowntastrophe event, held at Delicious Boutique in Northern Liberties October 6th, a spectacle that involves oil paintings, sword-swallowing and corsets aplenty. The Puppet Karaoke Cirque De Stupid will feature Palcko with circus-themed surprises and a entire cast of singing puppets, such as Mo' Tut the Homeboy King, Iraqui Balboa and newcomer Flip The Bird. Audience members may compete in the karaoke with their own original puppets for prizes and the opportunity to be featured in one of the show's video podcast episodes.
