The award-winning audience-participation-friendly Puppet Karaoke Universe Show has been renewed for another fun-tabluous year at the all-new M-Room in Fishtown and, for the first time, regularly updated internet video segments from the monthly show will be streaming on sites like Philly1.com, so attendees can go online and see their very own puppet performances. January's show, entitled "The 2006 New Years Sing-Sational Summit" will also feature a very special narrative presentation, "Farquark's Lost Adventure" which details the uncomfortable story of Farquark the Forgotten Snowflake on a journey of self-discovery.
The Puppet Karaoke Universe Show has been entertaining audiences in the region with a fortuitous mix of puppet-show shenanigans and crazy karaoke culture, with a large cast of puppet characters such as the mysterious Biibom-Biibom, the monstrous Sork the Astro-Polyp and the uber-cute kitty-cat Mitzil P, led by nice-guy human host David Cassanova (of PeekaBoo Revue Cabaret fame) and joined by guest puppets provided by the audience themselves. All participants engage in real karaoke on a puppet stage and compete for cool prizes, donated by area merchants. An Emergency Puppet Construction Zone is provided for those who want to concoct a last-minute character to enter the fray. To coincide with The 2006 New Years Sing-Sational Summit, the show will debut an online component, where clips and performances will be available for video-streaming on sites like Philly1.com, so the puppet stars can share their limelight with the world. New cast member Farquark the Forgotten Snowflake will also present a special one-snowflake show, "Farquark's Lost Adventure" which will reveal his secret origins, sad exploits and ultimate realizations of the snowflake condition in a powerful new work.
