Ron Avery is a lively and experienced speaker on just about anything related to Philadelphia.
Each talk is illustrated by overhead projection slides of people and places. Talks can be tailored from 20 minutes to two-hours.
His speaking style is informal, often humorous and always informative.
Ron gets listeners involved with constant questions to the audience
He has spoken countless times at book stores, libraries, service clubs and professional organization.
For 10 years he has introduced his native city to thousands of Elderhostel participants with a 90-minute historical overview called "Philadelphia in a Nutshell."
When his historical book on local crime, City of Brotherly Mayhem, was published, Avery was invited to speak to more than a dozen law enforcement groups.
